Are you a budding artist or just enjoy looking at art. Why not join us for afternoon tea on Saturday 22nd June 2024 to celebrate the past winners of the Kate Greenaway Illustrators award.
If you would like to submit your own artwork linked to your favorite children's book then please drop it off at Rolleston Church between 10am and 12pm on the day.
Everyone welcome and medals for all entrants.

CELEBRATION THE BIRTHDAY OF KATE GREENAWAY

An amazing afternoon was had by all, with over 120 visitors coming to the Church to enjoy an afternoon tea provided by the Kate Greenaway Action Group.
​
There was a fantastic display about Kate Greenaway and her association with Rolleston that everyone found really informative and the Kate Greenaway Singers entertained with songs from Kate's era.
​
Money raised will go to provide more artwork around the village.
​
Plans are to hold a similar event next year

We went carol singing around the village and through the kind generosity of Rolleston Villagers raised £320.

Half of the money raised will go towards the Kate Greenaway Action Group and the other half to the charity Reach
SIGNS ARRIVE IN THE VILLAGE
A huge thankyou to Rolleston Parish Council for including Kate Greenaway on the new village signs, its official, we now really do live in Kate Greenaway country.

KATE GREENAWAY BIRTHDAY
We sent out a birthday card out to all the residents of Rolleston to tell them about Kate Greenaway's Birthday and to start to gain awareness of her association with Rolleston.

COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE INSTALLED
In recognition of Eric's cottage being a home to Kate Greenaway during her childhood we have been successful in getting agreement from the owner, Notts County Council, and raising the funds to install a plaque on the cottage
FIRST PLANTING IN KATE GREENAWAY GARDEN
A huge thank you to Claire for filling and planting up the new planters which are in situ, next to the new seat in the Kate Greenaway Garden. It was very kind of her to donate the compost and plants and we look forward to seeing the flowers when the time comes to plant them.Â
